More Information

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Behavior Therapist to join a special education department at an international school in Kuwait for the upcoming academic year 2024/2025.

As a Behavior Therapist, you will play a key role in providing behavior intervention services to students, implementing behavior plans, and collaborating with educators and parents to create a supportive learning environment. This position requires a strong foundation in psychology, coupled with expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the root causes of challenging behaviors exhibited by students.
  2. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students.
  3. Provide direct one-on-one or group behavior therapy sessions to students, incorporating evidence-based ABA techniques to promote skill development and behavior change.
  4. Monitor and track student progress, adjusting intervention strategies as needed to achieve positive outcomes.
  5. Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement proactive strategies and create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  6. Provide training and support to school staff and parents on behavior management strategies and ABA principles.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of behavior assessments, intervention plans, and progress reports.
  8. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress, share insights, and contribute to the overall development of behavioral support programs.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
  2. ABA certification (RBT, BCBA, ABAT, or QBA) demonstrating expertise in behavior analysis principles.
  3. Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Behavior Therapist, preferably in an educational setting.
  4. Strong knowledge of behavioral assessment techniques, functional analysis, and behavior intervention strategies.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other school staff.
  6. Ability to adapt intervention strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with varying abilities and cultural backgrounds.
  7. Knowledge of inclusive education practices and a commitment to promoting a positive and supportive school environment.
  8. Familiarity with assistive technology and resources to support students with behavioral challenges.
