For me, teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth. I have a teaching experience of more than 12 years. Two years as a Lecturer in Engineering college, wherein I taught subjects to under graduate students. I am serving as an Assistant Professor in Mathematics department at Marwadi University, Rajkot Gujarat India. Previously I worked as a Mathematics Teacher in Government school, Abu Dhabi under Ministry of Education (UAE) since 2018 to 2020. Also I worked as an Assistant Professor at Marwadi University, Rajkot for 7 years since 2011 to 2018. I had taught Mathematics to Bachelor and Master students along with mentoring classes in 3rd and 7th semester B.E. students for motivating them to undertake various research activities. My teaching learning approach is to inculcate Engineering Mathematics and Scientific attributes among my students for which I follow and refer Washington Accord with prime focus on Communication, Team Work and Deep Learning. I believe Learning is primary and teaching is secondary. It is the prime duty of a teacher to instill love for learning among students by motivating them and informing them the importance and relevance of the subject or topic in their lives along with its application. Whenever possible I include Analogy, Role play, Impersonation, videos and demonstrations into my teaching methodology. Such innovations have already yielded positive results for me and my students and hence I continually try to take it a level higher every time I deliver my lecture. While teaching, my focus is on deep learning instead of surface learning approach hence, my students are encouraged to actively interact and participate during the lectures. Each individual has a unique quality or hidden potential and my role as a facilitator is to make them aware of this. Each student has a unique way of understanding so based on VAK (Visual Auditory Kinesthetic) model I prepare my lectures in such a way that all these modes of communications are incorporated into my lecture delivering technique. Till now both me and my students have enjoyed this approach and hence I am further motivated to spend extra hours for effective Teaching-Learning Pedagogy.
