Richard Smith
I am retired from the State of Georgia and SFS. I have worked most of my life and, I have concluded retirement is boring. The pandemic put my overseas teaching on hold, however, I wish to continue teaching because it gives me a sense of purpose, and allows me to put my talents, abilities, skills, and experience to good use.
My work work experience ranges from 1975 to present. I have experience and certifications in the following areas:
4th grade through grade 12
College level English (levels 1,2, and 3) (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced)
American and British curriculum
Teaching (History, Business Studies, Economics, ESL, & English)
TESOL certification
IELTS certification

Planning and Development
Briefly, my philosophy concerning education is, “a person may obtain degrees and certificates, however, your education does not end when you graduate. Education never ends.” Employers will expect better than average performance from their employees, and I try to impress upon my students, “learn to learn” and “exceed expectations”.
