Led whole school implementation of the Australian national curriculum, underpinning the philosophy of the International Baccalaureate (IB) from Kindergarten to Year 10.

IB Diploma Coordinator ensuring teaching, learning and assessment complied with IB policy.

Head Swim Coach successfully leading the school swim team to win the Indonesian International Schools Championships. This was a first in the history of the school.

Led student expeditions to assist communities including, annual beaches plastics clean-up, village well construction, palm oil plantations and the effect on community, seaweed farming and connecting with traditional Balinese water distribution.

Taught Standard Level and Higher Level IB Diploma Chemistry and Biology

Led and inspired a team of both local and international teachers to establish an IB international school for Chinese students wishing to progress to international universities. Students attended the school in years 10-12, completed a compressed IGCSE over one year followed by either A levels of IB Diploma courses.

Mentor to international teaching staff.

I was also the first and only male teacher to be permitted to teach Saudi girls unsupervised, a cultural, unprecedented and historical landmark for girls’ education in Saudi Arabia. I have both an educational investment and extensive experience in girls’ education, gaining deep respect from my students and their parents as an exceptional educator.

Introduced inquiry-based learning, use of ICT and English acquisition.

At the whole school level, the community came to know me through my efforts as Head Coach for Swimming and Cross Country. I coached a Cross Country team to win the Middle East International Schools Cross Country Championships and had one student break a ten-year record.

Established an inaugural, annual music presentation/competition which opened the door for Saudi girls to perform and be applauded in public (within our 5000 strong compound), again an unprecedented, controversial, but highly successful event that drew community support for change.

Provided Saudi girls with unique and new experiences such as marine ecosystem study on the Red Sea and university visits

Established and led a community mangrove restoration project within the compound.

Volunteered my weekend time to train professional Asian lifeguards, upskilling them with fitness and rescue and establishment of respect from the Saudi community outside the compound. This led to the lifeguard team winning a prestigious employees of the year award.

Transformed an underperforming science faculty to be the leading faculty within the school. This led to significant increase in student interest in science and an increase in those selected senior science subjects.

Successfully partnered with the University of New England to pilot an educational program, ‘Structure of the Observed Learning Outcome’ which went on to underpin Science state based compulsory assessment in NSW, Australia.
