My most recent position as Head of Guidance and Well-Being as well as my experience as Assistant Examinations Officer makes me an ideal candidate for the position.
In the former role, I was responsible for conducting one to one and group counselling sessions with students across the whole school, arranging career and college fairs and visits for the high school students. I supervised and worked with a team of pastoral leaders in planning sessions geared towards preparing students for college readiness. This includes writing college essays and personal statements, CV and cover letter writing and guiding students in completing their college applications. In my role, I was also in charge of completing transcripts for the students as well. It being a newly developed school, I also developed the policies and forms needed to run the department as well as the implementation of the school’s behaviour management program.
In my latter role, I was in charge of preparing, reproducing and distributing examination papers to the community colleges in all of Jamaica. I was also responsible for creating examination schedules as well as conducting site visits to examination centers to ensure all measure were in place and invigilators carried duties in line with the prescribed standards. I also played an integral role in the development of these standards and policies as well which resulted in the organization being ISO certified.
