We are seeking a qualified and experienced Speech and Language Pathologist to join a special education department at an international school in Kuwait for this academic year 2024/2025.

As a Speech and Language Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with communication and speech disorders. This position requires a strong background in speech and language pathology, complemented by expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders in individuals of various age groups.
  2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs and goals of each student.
  3. Provide direct therapy services to student, utilizing evidence-based techniques to improve communication skills, language development, and social communication.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, educators, and caregivers to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to student care.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant documentation.
  6. Stay current with advances in the field of speech and language pathology and ABA, incorporating best practices into clinical interventions.
  7. Provide guidance and training to support staff, caregivers, and other professionals involved in the care of clients.
  8. Participate in meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance professional skills and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
  2. ABA certification (RBT, BCBA, ABAT, or QBA) demonstrating a solid understanding of behavior analysis principles.
  3. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Speech and Language Pathologist, with a focus on diagnosing and treating communication disorders.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  5. Proficient in conducting and interpreting a variety of speech and language assessments.
  6. Knowledge of assistive technology and alternative communication methods is a plus.
  7. Commitment to professional growth and development, including staying informed about current research and trends in the field.
